What Jo Davis and Nicki Heinen want from issue 7 submissions
We are looking for poems with a deliciousness in their language - a feeling for the luscious, or a delectable austerity. We are looking for poems that create a visceral response, a shivery excitement, or a sense of our perspective being stretched. We think poems that do this are usually those that enthral both the head and heart, that exhibit control but also that surprise us. And they are poems that have something new or important to say. In keeping with this, we are keen to hear from those who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic, especially those with physical or mental health disabilities.
